Polar Bear Plunge.....almost
Michiel shot this video with his water-proof digital camera. We decided to go swimming on Sunday in approx. 42 degree water on a 48 degree day. Cold, but good times! It was one of those run in for a bit, run out situations. We went in about 5 times. Luckily, the sun was out and there were no clouds in the sky so it felt relatively warm (?) laying on the beach. It was funny to see people walking by in pants and winter jackets, and here we are sitting, wet in just swimsuits on the beach.
P.S. living by a beach is awesome

Eric, what were you thinking dude? I don't have a medical degree but I don't think going in 42 degree water with 48 degree air temp is healthy for someone with the chills and sore throat a few days earlier. Maybe all that Danish sunshine is doing wierd things or could it be that Uncle Guiness stopped by for another visit (and perhaps stayed too long?).
How do you say "Carpe diem" in Danish?
Looking at your video reminded me of our trip to the coast in Oregon when you and dad were trying to see how long you could stay in the frigid water. That time you only stood in the water. How in the heck could you tolerate the 42 degree temperature? Maybe the cold water killed all the germs you were harboring....
I agree with Uncle Ed "seize the day"
