One of the favorite candies in Denmark is salted licorice. That's right, licorice with salt on it. I had a couple pieces the other day and it is certainly an acquired taste. I'm not saying that it's bad, but it'll probably take a little while to get used to. I never would have thought to put salt on licorice.
I walked around one of their main malls downtown and to my surprise there was a Build-a-Bear store. I suppose building stuffed animals is really something that transcends all cultures, although I never would have thought I would have seen it here.

Licorice with salt, hmmmm...you know what they don't have enough of, meats on a stick. Or how about meats in a cone. You know, maybe a nice waffle cone stuffed full of chopped liver. Now that's an idea waiting to pop...
Yeah, I will never get used to the salty licorice... but Andres likes it because he grew up with it! Yuck! It's amazing about the Build a Bear shops... a very smart UGA graduate created those stores and look at them now! If only I had thought of that!!

I think the Build-A-Bear headquarters is in Denmark. A gradeschool friend of mines dad works for them and takes trips out to denmark all the time.
Those Danes will put salt on anything, especially herring. It tastes better after a couple shots of snaps in my opinion though.
